Abstract:A method for rapid determination of arsenic in tin concentrate by spectrophotometry was reported in this paper. The samples were dissolved in Potassium Chlorate-Nitrate- Hydrochloric acid at low temperature and processed by sulfuric acid fumes; and then leached with hydrochloric acid. Arsenic concentration in the sample solution was determined by spectrophotometry. This simple method is practical and fast in analysis. The method has been applied to determine As in National Standard Reference samples and the results are in good agreement with the certified values with relative standard deviation of 1.1%—1.4% (n=12). This method is suitable for the determination of arsenic in the samples with As concentration > 0.01% and meets the standards.
