Abstract:
The phase analysis of dolomite ore and the calcined dolomite ore resulting from calcination of different temperatures were conducted using X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique. The main phase of dolomite ore is CaMg(CO3)2(98.6 wt%) and the impurity phase is SiO2 (1.4 wt%). The main phase CaMg(CO3)2 did not decompose after dolomite ore was calcined at 300 and 500℃ for 2 hours. At 750℃, the CaMg(CO3)2 partly decomposed and formed calcium carbonate and magnesia. At 1000℃, the CaMg(CO3)2 completely decomposed to magnesia and calcium oxide.
