Abstract:
The magnesium in Ni-Mg alloy was determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry using the hyposensitive line of magnesium (202.5 nm) as the analytical line. The sample was dissolved in HNO3(1:1). SrCl2 was added as a releaser to the sample solution to eliminate the influence of the co-existing elements. Under the optimal condition, the relative standard deviation of this method is less than 3% and the rate of recovery is in the range of 95.0%~105.5%. The results show that by using the hyposensitive line of magnesium both accuracy and precision can meet the requirement for routine quantitative analysis of magnesium in Ni-Mg alloy.
