Abstract:
      Under inert gas protection, recarburant samples were burned at high temperature in a horizontal resistance furnace. In water vapor environment, the nitrogen in recarburant was deoxidized to ammonia. The nitrogen contents were determined by UV spectrophotometry in the presence of alkaline potassium persulfate. The analytical results showed that nitrogen content can be quantitatively determined by the method with good accuracy and precision and with the RSD less than 6%. The method is simple, fast and low-cost, which can meet the requirements for detecting nitrogen in steelmaking manufacturing process.
