Abstract:
A new analytical method was proposed to determine Mg in amorphous boron powder by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). The samples was firstly dissolved in nitric-hydrochloric acid and then determined by ICP-AES under optimal instrument conditions with nitric-hydrochloric acid as the testing medium. The detection limit for Mg was 0.0044μg/mL and the relative standard deviations(RSD , n = 6) were 0.49 %~0.60%.The recoveries for testing the spiked samples were between 94.0%~102.0%. The comparison tests showed that the values determined by ICP-AES were consistent with those by the standard gravimetric method used by US army.
