Abstract:
The uncertainty of quantitative determination of Na+ content in serum was evaluated. The main sources of uncertainties include the uncertainties in digestion of the serum samples, sample preparation, volume regulation, Na + standard solution preparation for making a calibration curve, curve fitting for the standard curve, etc. The individual uncertainty arising from each source, defined as a component uncertainty, was calculated. The combined uncertainty for measurement results, obtained by combining each calculated component uncertainty, together with the expanded uncertainty were used in writing the final measurement report.
