Abstract:
Cu(Ⅱ) interacts with Bis-Cyclohexanone Oxalydihydrazone (BCO)in sodium borate buffer solution at pH 9.0~9.5,generating a blue complex. The relationship between the absorbance at the maximum absorption wavelength of 600nm with the content of copper obeys the Lambert-Beer’s law, based on which a method for determination of copper was established. Color developing condition for Cu(Ⅱ), stabilization time, the tolerance for interfering elements and the way of removal of interfering elements were experimentally studied. The experimental results show that the relative standard deviation (RSD) was 1.1% ~ 2.4%, which was consistent with the standard values. This method has successfully been applied to determine copper with the concentration of 0.005%~3.0% in ingot iron and alloy steel.
