Abstract:
There are some standard procedures for the determination of method detection limit (MDL) in literature. It is important and significant to guide testing laboratories understanding and applying these procedures for obtaining comparable method performance parameters such as MDL. In this paper, systemic analysis and summarization, presentation of their features, application scope, main points for understanding for these procedures and comparison of different determination methods for MDL were discussed based on real data sets from literature and author’s laboratory. The modified procedure is proposed for MDL determination for different laboratory requirement according to scientific and maneuverability principles.
