Abstract: |
A microwave digestion method was established for simultaneous determination of major heavy metal contaminants (Cu, Zn, Cd, As and Hg) in soil, and the concentrations of these elements were detected by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) and atomic fluorescence spectrometry. The proposed method was validated by the analysis of certified reference materials (the certified samples of soil: GSS-3, GSS-5 and GSS-20) and was applied to determine heavy metal elements in soil with satisfactory results. The relative standard deviations (RSDs, n=4) were all below 8.5 %. This approach provides a viable alternative to rapid determination of heavy metals in soil samples. |
