Abstract:
A method was developed for the determination of vanadium (V) in aluminum samples at optimized test conditions. A program was established for standardization and was used after verification. The analytical results agreed with the standard value for the high vanadium standard sample of E2235. The relative standard deviation of this method using spark emission spectrometry was 2.9 % (n=8). The results show that the method is accurate for analyte concentration less than 0.020 %. The proposed method is reliable and suitable for determining trace amounts of V in aluminum and aluminum alloys.
