Abstract:
A method based on Eschka reagent decomposition for determination of iodine content in geochemical samples by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) was developed. The sodium and zinc matrix were removed using cation exchange resin. For national standard soil reference samples,a detection limit of 0.006 9 μg/g, a relative standard deviation (RSD) of 3.3%~7.6% and a relative error of 2.3%~4.1% were determinedshowing that thetechnique can meet the analytical requirements of the geochemical samples. This method is simple, low cost, short analysis period and is suitable for batch sample analysis.
