Abstract:
      Accurate determination of precious metal content in the copper telluride is of great significance in guiding trading. As copper telluride content of higher tellurium, will lead the molten lead can’t be cohesive, buckle crisp, easy to crack, and the gold and silver can’t co-aggregate together, so the result is low, causing fire assay failed. In this experiment, tellurium and copper were first removed by using sulfuric acid, and then the amount of gold and silver in the copper telluride was determined by fire assay method. The effects of elements such as coexisting elements, sulfuric acid, solvents and impurities on the determination of gold and silver contents were discussed experimentally, thus, a rapid and accurate method for the determination of gold and silver in copper telluride was established. The recovery of the gold and silver is 97.7%~101.3%, the method is precise and can meet the needs of actual production.
