Abstract:
      Weight loss method is a standard test to measure corrosion rate of acidification process, however, the process is complicated and time consuming. In order to fulfil this deficiency of weight loss method, the present study reports the feasibility of using fast redox titration method for corrosion rate measurement. The difference between weight loss method and capacity analysis was discussed. The results showed that the relative average deviation between weight loss method and redox titration is not more than 4%. The contact angle analysis revealed that this difference is due to the increase of carbon steel surface heterogeneity.
