Abstract: |
The content of nutrient alloying elements Ca and Sr in biocompatible silicon-bearing magnesium alloys were determined by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). The sample was prepared by dissolving alloys inhydrochloric acid, nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid. Silicon-bearing magnesium alloys were completely decomposed after removal of fluorine ion by perchloric acid at high temperature. The optimum conditions, selected instrumentalparameters and chosenanalytical line for Ca and Srmeasurement were discussed. Moreover, relation of intensity signal with concentration was evaluated andlimit of detection (LOD) was determined. The relative standard deviation was less than 1%(n=5) and recovery rates were in the range of 100.6% –117.2%. This method was successfully applied for the detection of Ca and Sr in biocompatible silicon-bearing magnesium alloys and can be practically applied. |
