Abstract:
An atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) method based on microwave digestion and wet digestion was established for determination of Ca and Mg content in orange juice. The Ca 317.933 nm line was selected for Ca content and Mg 285.213 nm line was chosen for Mg content measurement. The results showed that the limit of detection of Ca and Mg was 0.001,8 and 0.000,4 mg/L, respectively. The relative standard deviations (RSD) of Ca and Mg were less than 2 % and the recoveries ranged between 99 % – 101 %. The method was applied in the FAPAS test for orange juice. The feedback statistics showed satisfactory results with Z-score of Ca and Mg were -0.3 and 0.3, respectively. The presented method is simple and accurate for determining Ca and Mg content measurement in orange juice.
