Abstract: |
In order to explore the uncertainty estimation of Portable X-ray fluorescence (PXRF) spectrometry method, PXRF analysis and classical laboratory analysis were employed for the determination of heavy metal concentrations in contaminated site around a typical non-ferrous metal mining area, Hunan Province. Linear regression were established to investigate the correlation of determination results of PXRF and laboratory analysis, confidence interval of the standardized mortality ratio of the data obtained by the PXRF method to these obtained by the laboratory method were calculated to explore the obtained by the laboratory method were calculated to explore the accuracy of PXRF analysis. The results indicated that the concentrations of heavy metals measured by in-situ PXRF, ex-situ PXRF are consistent with those measured by the classical laboratory method. The determination of arsenic, copper, lead and cadmium concentration measured by PXRF and laboratory analysis (i.e., R2 values) are generally above 0.70, the data quality can reach the quantitative level. The results of confidence interval indicated that the accuracy of ex-situ PXRF analysis for cadmium is the best. The confidence interval of the ratio for cadmium, lead, copper and arsenic are (0.57, 1.89)、(0.38, 2.22)、(0.31, 2.25)、(0.20, 4.53), respectively. Therefore, PXRF analysis is a valuable in-situ test method for rapid and relatively accuracy detect the heavy metal of soil. Thus it can be widely used in contaminated site investigation and soil remediation works. |
