Abstract:
A method for the determination of lead, iron and bismuth in filtration cake of copper arsenic samples by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) was established. The samples were digested with mixtures of nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid and perchloric acid, in which the arsenic matrix was eliminated by the volatilization of hydrochloric acid and hydrobromic acid. The results showed that the measurement ranges for Pb, Fe and Bi were 0.12%~2.09%, 0.081%~2.10% and 1.20%~6.14%, respectively, while the recoveries of the above-mentioned three elements were 95.5%~101.7%. This method is handy, precise and reliable so that it can be used in the determination of Pb, Fe and Bi simultaneously in filtration cake of copper arsenic samples.
