中文摘要: 本文以中国广东海蓝宝石为研究对象,详细探讨其红外 (IR)、紫外可见(UV-Vis)和拉曼宝石光谱特征,并应用激光剥蚀电感耦合等离子体质谱(LA-ICP-MS)厘定了该地区海蓝宝石主微量元素含量。IR光谱结果显示海蓝宝石结构通道中存在H2O分子,拉曼光谱表明H2O分子主要为II型水,并显示研究样品存在注胶现象。UV-Vis光谱显示374、427、620和810 nm附近均出现与Fe元素有关的吸收峰。LA-ICP-MS测试结果表明海蓝宝石主成分SiO2、Al2O3和BeO含量分别为67.54 ± 0.13 %、17.48 ± 0.10 %和13.25 ± 0.07 %,其中Al2O3含量明显低于理论值18.99%,证实样品中存在类质同象。同时发现Fe+Mg+Mn总量达总碱金属含量(TAl-M)的2倍,且Fe元素含量高达6764–8142 μg/g,表明Al-O6八面体和结构通道中均存在Fe元素。综合以上信息推测Fe2+/Fe3+电荷转移和Fe2+电子跃迁为该地区海蓝宝石的主要致色因子。通过对比我国不同地区伟晶岩中海蓝宝石Fe+Mg+Mn和TAl-M的关系发现应用微量元素特征尤其是Fe+Mg+Mn含量可以区分海蓝宝石的产地。本文还观察到分析面越光滑,样品分子骨架振动产生的IR吸收峰信息越丰富,且与分析面积大小无关,同时不同测试区域的UV-Vis光谱分析重现性越高。因此实际分析过程中,建议选取较为平滑的宝石原石区域采集样品的IR和UV-Vis光谱,以增加分析结果的可靠性。
Abstract:In this paper, the optical characteristics involving infrared (IR), ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) and Raman spectra of aquamarine from Guangdong of China were studied in detail, with chemical compositions determined by laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS). The IR spectral study showed that there were H2O molecules in the structural channels of the studied aquamarine. The Raman spectra further demonstrated that the type II water was dominant and there existed glue injection treatment. For UV-Vis spectra, absorption bands of around 374, 427, 620 and 810 nm mainly associated with element Fe were observed. The LA-ICP-MS analyses showed that the matrix SiO2, Al2O3 and BeO in the aquamarine samples were 67.54 ± 0.13%, 17.48 ± 0.10 % and 13.25 ± 0.07%, respectively. It was worth noting that the concentration of Al2O3 was obviously lower than the theoretical value of 18.99%, demonstrating there were isomorphous substitutions in the studied samples. It was also observed that the total concentrations of Fe+Mg+Mn were about twice as that of TAl-M. The element Fe of high as 6764–8142 μg/g revealed the dual occupancy of Fe ions in Al-O6 octahedra and structural channels. Based on the obtained UV-Vis spectra and element compositions, it can be inferred that the intervalence charge transfer of Fe2+/Fe3+ and electron transitions of Fe2+ simultaneously contributed to the blue color of aquamarine samples from Guangdong, China. Additionally, the concentration relationships of Fe+Mg+Mn with the TAl-M for aquamarine samples from different pegmatite deposits in China assured that aquamarine samples from Guangdong can be directly distinguished via chemical compositions, in particular the concentration characteristics of Fe+Mg+Mn. The effect study of surface smoothness of the studied sample on IR spectrum showed that the number of absorption bands in particular the fingerprint area increased with increasing smoothness but irrespective of the size of analyzing region. This phenomenon can also be observed in UV-Vis spectra of aquamarine. To achieve reliable IR and UV-Vis spectra, the smooth region of the sample was highly recommended for the measurement.
